Ocular Genomics Institute Scientists publish large Gene-Wide Association Study of Glaucoma

Janey Wiggs, MD, Ph.D., Ocular Genomics Institute Associate Director, Chief of Ophthalmology Clinical Research at Mass Eye and Ear, and the Paul Austin Chandler Professor of Ophthalmology and Vice Chair of Clinical Research at Harvard Medical School, and Ayellet Segre, genetic biostatistician, Ocular Genomics Institute Investigator, and Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School are part of an international group whose findings on Glaucoma were published February 24, 2021 in Nature Communications. The largest Gene-Wide Association Study (GWAS) of its kind identified 44 new gene loci and confirmed 83 previously reported loci linked to glaucoma. .
