Dr. Ayellet Segrè is part of a team of investigators awarded a $2 million grant by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiativeto build a cell atlas of the human eye from birth to old age, as part of a global research effort called the Human Cell Atlas,using single cell RNA-sequencing, and to identify gene expression and regulation specific to different cell types.
